La Trobe University Research 2017 Scholarships for International Students in Australia

La Trobe University is offering a doctoral research scholarship awarded to outstanding candidates to undertake research on a project funded by the Australian Research Council for international applicants. The PhD student will work in the area of random fields that are described as solutions of stochastic differential equations on a sphere or a ball. These scholarships are available for online new applicants.

  • A fee-relief scholarship (LTUFFRS) for four years to undertake a PhD at La Trobe University (international applicants only)

Eligibility Criteria
Eligible applicants for the scholarships:
  • Open to new applicants only
  • Applicants should have a high level of achievement, including a first class honours degree or equivalent in Probability, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related field
  • Have good English language proficiency

  • When candiates have received in-principle agreement for supervision, complete and submit their application to: Admissions.grs@latrobe.edu.au
  • Supporting documents with application:
  • A brief cover letter addressing the requirements
  • Up to date CV with the list of publications (if any)
  • Scanned copies of original academic transcript(s) in English
  • A copy of your Master’s thesis (if it is in English)
  • A research proposal of no more than 300 words
  • Details of any publications
  • Contact details of two referees
  • Evidence or plans for meeting English language requirements
  • Birth certificate or Citizenship certificate
  • Submit all supporting documentation as above in a single pdf file with online application
