JAMB Candidate Arrested For Carrying A Firearm To Exam Hall

Report has it that a 21-year-old candidate has been captured for going to JAMB examination hall with a firearm.

It was learnt that he was captured by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) at Nasarawa state Polytechnic center on May 16th, 2017 amid a search at the entrance to the hall.

Affirming the capture, NSCDC boss, Lawal-Kano said the suspect was captured on Tuesday, May 16, after he was observed to be in control of a locally made gun and two rounds of live ammo and upon cross examination, the speculate admitted that somebody gave him the weapon for safety's sake.

The NSCDC boss said that the suspect would be charged to court for illicit possession of guns, including that even registered guns were not permitted at examination hall.

In a comparable development, another candidate has been captured in Benue state after he was discovered stealing inside the examination hall.
