UI Shut Down Following Students' Protest

The University of Ibadan UI has been closed down after the protest staged by the students of the institution.

At the moment students have been ordered to vacate the campus.

It was learnt that the students staged a protest over what they portrayed as the inhumanity of the school administration.

some of the students grumbled about their failure to get the school identity cards which is an essential for writing the prospective examination that was assume to start this week.

Some others grumbled about the forbidding of electric cooking machine ordinarily known as hot plate in the school hostels.

As per the University's Director of Communications and Publication, Olatunji Oladejo, the closure became necessary in other to avert crisis.

He expressed that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, had assembled a crisis meeting of the college Senate to take a gander at the conditions encompassing the challenge.

It was similarly accumulated that the semester examination which was to begin this week has been moved to July 2017.

All undergraduate students are to resume back in school on July 17 while the post graduate students would continue to stay on campus for their research activities.
