UNIPORT Pre Degree Admission Form in Humanities & Education Form 2017/18

The Management of University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) is inviting suitably qualified candidates for admission into Pre-degree programme in the Faculties of Humanities and Education, for the 2017/2018 Session.
ELIGIBILITY: The Programme is open to applicants with a minimum of five (5) Credits in not more than two sittings in English Language and other relevant subjects [in GCE, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB & TC II (TC II is applicable for applicants for Faculty of Education)].
COURSE DURATION: The Programme is for a period of one year (one academic session).

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should possess WASSC/SSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB Ordinary Level with credit passes in 5 relevant subjects. See the list of subjects below for details.
O’ Level Subjects: English Language, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Economics, Commence, Geography, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Agric. Science, Physics, A Nigerian Language (Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba),Fine Arts, History, Government, French, Further Mathematics, Music.
FACULTY OF HUMANITIES O’LEVEL SUBJECTS REQUIREMENTS JAMB SUBJECTS
Fine Arts & Design [FAD] Five O’ level credits in English Language and any other four subjects from the O’ level subjects listed above. English Language and any other three subjects as listed under the O’ level subjects
Foreign Languages & Literatures (French Preparatory [FFP]) English Language, French and any other two subjects from Arts and Social Sciences as listed under the O’ level subjects above. NOTE: (i) For Successful Candidates from the Pre-degree Programme, credit in French is not compulsory
(ii) The Certificat d Etudes Francaise, 2 Degree, is acceptable as a Credit Pass in French

Linguistics & Communication Studies [LCS] Five O’ level credits in English Language and any other four subjects from the O’level subject listed above. English Language and any other three subjects as listed under the O’ level subjects above.
Religious & Cultural Studies [RCS] Five O’ level credits in English Language and any other four subjects from the O’ level subjects listed above. English Language and any other three subjects as listed under the O’ level subjects.
Theatre & Film Studies [TFS] Five O’ level credits in English Language, Literature in English and any other three subjects from the O’ level subject listed above. English Language, Literature in English & any other two Arts or Social Sciences subjects as listed under the O’ level subjects above.
Music [MUS] Five O’ level credits in English Language and any other four subjects from the O’ level subjects listed above. English Language and any other three subjects as listed under the O’ level subjects above.

Educational Psychology, Guidance and Counselling (EDP) Five O’ level credits in English Language, Mathematics and any other three subjects from the O’Level subjects listed above. English Language and three other subjects as listed above.
Adult and Non-Formal Education (DAE) Five O’ level credits in English Language and any other four subjects applicable to the specific Teaching subjects as in EDF, EDM or CSET. English Language, the teaching subject and two relevant subjects as applicable in EDF, EDM and CSET.
Human Kinetics and Health Education (KHE) Five O’ level credits in English Language, one Science subject preferably Biology, and any other three subjects from the O’Level subjects as listed above. English Language, and science subject and two other subjects as listed above.

HOW TO APPLY FOR UNIPORT PRE-DEGREE ADMISSION.

Application is online, Log on to www.uniport.edu.ng and follow the instruction; a fee of Ten Thousand Naira only (N10,000.00), excluding Bank charges is required. Payment should be made at U &C Micro Finance Bank LTD, Access Bank, First Bank, UBA and Fidelity Bank Nationwide.
The names on candidates’ O’ Level Certificates must be same as what is filled online. Any False information given automatically disqualifies the applicant.
COMMENCEMENT DATE: Online application would commence from Monday, July 24, 2017.
CLOSING DATE: The closing date for application is Friday, 17th November, 2017.
APTITUDE TEST: The University Aptitude Test will take place on Saturday, 25thNovember, 2017. The Venue shall be the Ashgrove Academy, UNIPORT.
Materials Needed for the Screening Exercise
Candidates are required to come with the following and be at the Venue by 8.00am
– A clear copy of Photocard printed online
– Biro, HB pencil, eraser
– Non – Programmable Calculator
REGISTRATION: Registration of successful candidates will be announced in due course.
NOTE:
To transit to the Degree Programme, in addition to the required 5 Credits, the candidate must
1. PASS THE PRESCRIBED PRE-DEGREE EXAMINATIONS
2. HAVE THE APPROPRIATE UNIFIED TERTIARY MATRICULATION EXAMINATION (UTME) SUBJECT     COMBINATION AND
3. HAVE THE NATIONAL MINIMUM SCORE IN THE 2018/2019 UTME AND MUST HAVE CHOSEN THE UNIVERSITY OF PORT HARCOURT
